Slocum-Dickson Medical Group announced that orthopedic surgeon John Sullivan now offers Jiffy Knee replacement surgery. According to the practice, he is the first and only surgeon in New York state trained in this innovative knee replacement procedure.
In a traditional knee replacement, surgeons cut into tendons; the Jiffy Knee procedure is minimally invasive and uses a special technique to avoid cutting tendons. This innovative procedure consists of moving the tendon instead of cutting into it. It allows patients to have a faster recovery time and lower post-operative pain.
“It is significantly different from a traditional knee replacement because it preserves the tendons and muscles and limits tissue damage,” said Sullivan. “The minimally invasive Jiffy Knee replacement procedure allows me to help patients get back to their active lifestyles faster.”
